Course Capsule
This course provides students with an opportunity to undertake an independent research project
under the guidance of a supervisor. Students will identify a research problem, review relevant
literature, design and implement an appropriate methodology, collect and analyze data, interpret
findings, and communicate results through oral and written presentations (in the form of a
dissertation).
Course Aim
To provide students with an opportunity to undertake an independent research project in a selected area of study under academic supervision which enable them to enhance their critical thinking, practical applications, and to apply the skills that they have learned throughout the course of study.
Course Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs)
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. formulate a small research question and develop appropriate objectives.
2. apply suitable research methodologies to investigate a scientific problem.
3. analyze and interpret research data critically.
4. communicate research findings effectively through oral, poster, and written formats.
5. demonstrate independence, professionalism, and ethical conduct in research.
